Genesis Bible Study Part I

Chapters 1 through 11

This Genesis Bible Study Part I provides an eleven week study that covers the first 11 chapters of Genesis.  It begins with a study of the creation and finishes with the birth of Abraham, the father of many nations and our common ancestor.  Each chapter study contains study questions, usually two to three questions per day.

This Genesis Bible Study Part I is the first of four parts and should be studied before the other three.  In fact, we recommend they be studied sequentially, starting with this one of course.

This Genesis Bible Study Part I features daily online study questions designed for small group or individual study. It's always better if you can share your insights with another, so we recommend small group studies if possible.

Some questions require you to study the scriptures within the chapter, others will require you to go to related chapters or books of the Bible.

Then there are questions only you can answer as we seek to apply Biblical principles to our lives.

By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible (Hebrews 11:3).

What you will study in these first 11 chapters are some of the most famous stories of all time:

  • The History of Creation
  • Adam and Eve
  • The Garden of Eden
  • Cain and Abel
  • Descendants of Adam
  • The Great Flood
  • Descendants of Noah
  • The Tower of Babel

Book of Genesis Chapter 1 -- This study of Genesis is the first of eleven in a series of studies of the first 11 chapters of the Book of Genesis. Learn how and why God created our world and what He considered good and blessed. Learn who helped God create our world, learn whether evolution is supported, and see how we fit into the picture.

Book of Genesis Chapter 2 -- Learn why God created Adam and Eve and about their home in the Garden of Eden. Discover how these events affect us to this very day. What commands did God issue at the beginning of time and do they affect us still today?

Book of Genesis Chapter 3 -- Learn about the fall of man and how Adam and Eve's sin affects us all still today. See how Satan, the Father of Lies, uses a lie to trick mankind just as he continues to do today. Was it a sin to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil?

Book of Genesis - Chapter 4 -- Learn about the consequences of murder in the first family in history. Who was the third son born to Adam and Eve? How did these events affect Eve? Does the Bible condone polygamy or having more than one wife?

Book of Genesis - Chapter 5 -- Learn about the ancestors of the man Jesus Christ, from the first man, Adam down to Noah. It may surprise you to learn who was alive during Adam's lifetime, who outlived their sons, and who was alive at the time of the great flood.

We pray these Bible studies are a blessing to you. Our desire is that God will speak to you through His Holy Word and that you grow closer to Him by studying the Bible.

The Bible says God's Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light upon our path (Psalm 119:105). So why walk in darkness when you can walk in light? Walking in light makes life easy - You won't "stub your toe" on Satan's traps when you can see them with the light of God on your path.

The Apostle Peter tells us God wants us to study the Bible so that we can have something more sure, the prophetic word, and that we will do well to pay attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.   II Peter 1:19

Book of Genesis - Chapter 8 -- What did Noah do when he left the ark? This Genesis Bible study tells us that God was so pleased with what Noah did that he made two  promises that we can rely on to this very day!

Book of Genesis - Chapter 9 -- Which of Noah's three sons was cursed and why? How did Noah's family not become food for all the wild animals? Is drunkenness a sin? Does the land of Israel belong to the Jewish people?

Book of Genesis - Chapter 10 -- Discover which of the lineage of the Christ-line from Noah to Abram. Do you know which of the lines of Noah's sons spawned the Muslim nations?

Book of Genesis - Chapter 11 -- This study of Genesis is our final Genesis Bible study of the first 11 chapters of the Book of Genesis. Here we see another era begin with the introduction of Abram, later called Abraham.
