wanting a better relationship with jesus

i am a 20 year old male and im just a little confused. i need guidance. my girlfriend is pregnant with a baby girl and i know i will be a good father its just that sometimes i dont know what to do with myself. i feel lost like im in the dark. i need understanding about life and about our Lord Savior Jesus Christ because if dont know him and dont have that relationship with him i know i dont have the wisdom. when my child is born how can i share the understanding of Him if i dont have the knowledge to do so.
