About Pastor Ken

Pastor Ken Schroeder

Pastor Ken is a pastor and is a great Christian leader, mentor and prayer partner. He is the Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church located in Mandeville, Louisiana, United States.

Pastor Ken has been the Pastor there since 1994 and has graciously allowed us to us post his Daily Devotional on this website. We pray that it will bless you.

Pastor Ken loves his wife and kids, is a gifted teacher, is committed to Christ, and loves hard work. At our church Pastor Ken provides the vision and serves as the primary teacher and guides the pastoral leadership team. Pastor Ken leads efforts to reach and teach people hungry for the truth. Pastor Ken provides leadership for the English church here in America, helped found the sister Spanish church, and has led efforts on missions in North and South America and Africa.

Pastor Ken was raised on a farm just west of Burkburnett, Texas (north central Texas). Having grown up in a great Christian home (Lutheran background) and not long after marrying Gayla in 1975, Pastor Ken became convinced that he should join Gayla's church, Central Baptist in Burkburnett. They worshiped there until Pastor Ken accepted a call to his first pastorate.

Pastor Ken has also served as pastor of three churches in Texas (Jean, Argyle, and Wharton). Pastor Ken and Gayla have four children: KeriBeth, Kendal, Travis, and Melissa.

Ken has a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.E, 1982) from Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls. He has two degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth -- a Master of Divinity (M.Div., 1985) and a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.,1989).
