What is Salvation?

Last month’s article developed the idea of accommodation. This month’s article will focus on another facet of accommodation, and that is (of course) Salvation. When most people think of salvation or being saved, they usually picture in their minds a person in jeopardy on the brink of losing his/her life. click here to read the rest of the article

Each month we will provide you a review of a different Study Bible. This month's review features the MacArthur Study Bible.

I really enjoy the John MacArthur Study Bible by Word Publishing. It offers me great insights into the Word of God and provides great commentary throughout the Old and New Testaments.

I was given this great reference by a great evangelist and preacher named Herman Gauthier. I love him and I love this great tool for helping me understand God's Holy Word. Thank You Pastor Herman!

I like this study Bible because I believe I can depend in it to cover topics or verses in scripture that I would naturally have a question on as I read and study my Bible.

I routinely take it with me if I know I might have questions on the material I will be teaching. I have met many who own this great reference and feel the same way.

Below are some of the great features I have found useful to me and thought might better explain what this Study Bible might offer you. I especially like the reference notes and the topical index.

Features of This Study Bible include: introductions to each book of the Bible and various study helps such as:

  • Introduction to the Bible
  • How We Got the Bible
  • How to Study the Bible
  • The Progress of Revelation
  • Introduction to the Pentateuch
  • A topical index
  • Chronology of the Old Testament Patriarchs and Judges
  • A harmony of the Books of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles
  • A chronology of the Old Testament kings and prophets
  • Various charts and maps
